Wind forecasting and production for windfarms

eWind uses a sophisticated meteorological model that has been tuned to provide reliable wind forecasts at the surface layers. The modeling system forecasts the magnitude and direction of the wind for a desired site at hourly intervals or even at fractional hours, at the user's convenience. The output is then ingested by an adaptative statistical model that constantly adjusts the forecasts in order to provide the best possible forecast.

The service updates the forecasts at the required frequency in order to fulfill the client needs and the opening and closing schedule of the electrical market. If windfarm real-time or quasi real-time data are available, the forecasts can be statistically readjusted to forecast the energy production at very short terms, and introduce these corrections in the intraday market.

The wind and energy forecasts are delivered to the client by automatic means: via FTP, web or e-mail and in the required format (text, Excel, csv, xml, etc). Also, as an additional service, Meteosim Truewind may provide quarterly summaries in which the real wind and production data are compared with the delivered forecasts.
